Bervine Harris:
Bervine is Co-Executive Director for Renaissance - E.M.S

His passion for community service began early on in his high school days. It was then that he founded his first youth leadership group, "Youth on the Move". In the role of president, the implementation of his vision to curb drug activity in his community garnered him the respect of his peers and made him a recognizable figure within the community. Because of his efforts, the Town of Hempstead presented him with the County Proclamation. This experience would act as a training ground for Bervine to hone his skills for leadership and to sharpen his focus towards service as he graduated to other academic endeavors.

Old Westbury would prove to be fertile ground for Bervine to continue developing his goals and ideas as it relates to the betterment of his community and society as a whole. Bervine would earn a BA degree in Comparative Creative Arts. While still a student he would go on to found the Old Westbury Choir and simultaneously serve as it's director and president. He would further share his talents as president of the Performing Arts Student Association. Upon graduation, he would be honored as the recipient of the college's Community Service Award. Having done so much with so little, it was no surprise that Old Westbury would seek to retain his expertise after graduation. Bervine would then go on to spend the next four years working as a counselor in it's admissions department.

In hope of reaching young people at an earlier age, Bervine resigned from the suburban college experience, to work in the inner city working at Pius XII in the North Bronx as Director of Teen Services. Bervine established their first job training program for teens, founded the parent alliance, founded and coached the warriors track club, coordinated the annual talent show and still serves as a friend to the agency and community.
